This is a vintage Japanese Chasen, a (tea whisk) made of a single length of bamboo split into fine tines used to mix and froth powdered green tea (matcha) in water during a Japanese tea ceremony. This tea whisk is an 80 tine type and comes with a box and has never been used. This whisk is in good condition and ready to use. The whisk measures 3" in diameter at the widest point and 4 1/8" tall (7.5 x 10.5 cm). The box measures 2 1/4 x 2 1/4 x 4 1/2" (6 x 6 x 11 cm).
