I've been making wooden barrettes for over 20 years. My barrettes are all made from SOLID wood.
**Never a thin layer of veneer over a cheaper base wood**

They are screwed not glued to the made in France clips for a strong, durable, mess free joint.

Cherry (Curl / Flame Figure/ Burl) - (Prunus Serotina) Frequently used in Shaker and colonial furniture, Cherry is the most popular furniture wood in America. Barrette clips vary quite a bit in quality. We use only the highest quality French Barrette Clips on all my barrettes. They have proven themselves over time to be the best available.
